do you love looking at me? @ 11:12 pm

contrary to popular belief
i really DON'T love looking at myself for hours on end

not that i don't like looking at myself, don't get me wrong
i'm just saying that i don't keep galleries of hundreds of pictures of me on my web site because i look at them
in fact, i probably haven't seen all of the pictures in those galleries
-- i see enough of myself every day, and though i often like the way i look, i don't really love sifting through pictures of myself.
which brings me to my current problem:

i did a photo shoot in Portland back in August (well, three photo shoots)
and i JUST got the files yesterday
in a tiny tiny web rez gallery

the photographer doesn't want to give me all of them at a better resolution
(even a long edge of 1200 would be satisfying to me, am i being too critical? these are JUST TOO SMALL)
and says i can have less than a dozen in high-rez JPGs
then he's going to delete the RAW files
(but for the ones he will keep for his portfolio)

all of my bitching at him did not make him change his mind
and i REALLY don't feel like looking at all of these images
not when i'm pissed off about the situation
(i would just say the guy is an asshole coz he didn't give me what i want... but he's not, he takes beautiful photos... he just isn't giving me what i want on my terms. shucks)

if you really really like looking at pictures of me
please spend some time going through this gallery
and make note of the numbers of the pictures you really like
and try to pic two or three that you think are REALLY GREAT
then leave a comment or email me

it would be appreciated

Oh, and yeah
there is nudity
though nothing particularly sexual
and if you want to see his other work
go here

the one you posted in this post is actually my favorite one. i like the close-up messed up hair ones best of all. the head-stand ones are rad too.

These days I usually give people 600 to 800 px images, but really it depends on the individual and what was negotiated beforehand (that's if it's a nonpaying shoot, if it's a paying or for-charity shoot they get whatever format is going to work best for them, up to RAW files if they want them). A lot of portrait photographers make most of their income from selling prints, so typically they don't want to give away their stock in trade. If you're going to model you should get accustomed to having this conversation beforehand so expectations are clear (in fairness, so should the photographer). From a photographers' point of view they have put in their time ($200/hr-plus) and their equipment and overhead (about $80/shoot for me) and whatever postprocessing time and overhead (about $100 in my case for a typical shoot), plus whatever value you place on their creativity, and what they get out of it is some images they can hopefully use; if they then give away those images at printable sizes they are left with nothing in exchange for their energy and cash expenditure.

(That being said if someone asked me for 1200 px images I think I would probably be OK with it as long as there was a not for profit condition attached.)

As for deleting the RAW files, I think he's crazy but that's up to him. I keep everything I've ever shot even the "obviously bad" stuff, cause you just never know what you might need in a year or five years time. or what you might learn how to fix.

I took a quick look through these pictures but I could not narrow my choices to anything even approximating 3, 30 yes, but not 3!

I will look later when I have more time!

One thing I did notice, you look younger in color!

7255, 6441 and 6408 are all very interesting visually.

6344 and 6446 I like also.

6372 is my absolute favorite. Somehow I see both a frown and a smile. I agree that black and white makes you look older..not sure how that works. But they remind me of old Jim Morrison shots--and I loved those old BWs of him with the beard.

How sad to think any of this will be deleted. I'll put in a vote for: m-6509;6537;6570;7401; and 6537.

Wow, these are ravishing. I had no time yesterday to look at any--I'm really glad I caught some time today to start looking through.

If I get the chance I will post some #s of ones that particularly strike my fancy.

choice bits

Yeah, I know, like Jefferson Airplane said, it "Doesn't mean shit to a tree", but me favorites are:
_mp_6639 a wonderful belly shot
_mp_6439 a hairy ass shot
_mp_6364 close up and personal
_mp_6375 exudes raw sexuality
_mp_6344 great overall shot

but I did like the satyr look in_mp_7395
would love to meet that in the glen

I, too, prefer the black and white. It does give that more mature, Jim Morrison look and also implys more heft, no fat, just more weight.
Now give us a kiss, luv.
